Letter Coasters (Project 4)

I admit, before this class, I wasn't quite sure what bunting was. According to Wikipedia, modern day usage of bunting is "a term for any festive decorations made of fabric, or of plastic, paper or even cardboard in imitation of fabric. Typical forms of bunting are strings of colorful triangular flags and lengths of fabric in the colors of national flags gathered and draped into swags or pleated into fan shapes."
For Project 4, we were making rounding bunting - a refreshing change from typical triangular bunting. This one was definitely a challenge: 1) cutting out letters - I am terrible with typography, 2) machine sewing rounded edges - I can easily do this by hand but wanted to challenge myself, 3) where in the world was I going to hang this bunting?
I ended up making two wonky almost-circles with my initials... and rather than hang them somewhere, I am using them as coasters. There are other uses for this project's concepts brewing in my mind, but for now, protecting my desk from moisture and heat will have to do.
